Specal issues
Netla’s special editions are generally administered by a special editorial board under the auspices of the University of Iceland Educational Research Institute in consultation and cooperation with Netla’s editorial board.
In some specal issues a guest editor is responsible for the academic preparatory work involved in developing a special issue. This includes defining the theme, contributing to the call for papers, contacting or encouraging potential authors, and advising on the scholarly coherence of the issue. They do not oversee the formal peer-review process, have access to the status of individual manuscripts during review, or make publication decisions. All manuscripts submitted to special issues follow Netla’s regular peer-review and editorial procedures and are assessed according to the same academic and ethical standards as other submissions.
Editors of Netla retains final responsibility for peer review, manuscript handling, and publication decisions.
